IEC

International Experience Canada (IEC) is designed for people from 18 to 35 years of age. There are three types of IEC available – Working Holiday, Young Professional, and International Co-op (Internship).

A working holiday is for people who want to obtain an open work permit (e.g., people who want to have job options for more than one employer, change the place of work, and do not want to be associated with only one employer). The permit is issued for 12 months if there are no contraindications and the program’s conditions are met. Please note that the final decision always rests with the Immigration Officer.

An open work permit allows you to work in most professions, but some occupations will require medical research before you can start employment.

The Young Professionals program allows you to gain valuable Canadian experience. It is a category for candidates who have a job offer that will enable them to gain knowledge related to their education/faculty. It would be best to remember that the work permit will be closed, i.e., you are tied to one employer throughout your employment. The job offer must be of National Occupational Classification (NOC) 0, A, B. For NOC C, additional documents must be attached to the application.

International Co-op (Internship) Students can gain experience related to their field of study in this category. To qualify, you must be an active student, have a job or internship offer from a Canadian employer, and an internship is required to complete your degree program.

Why eKanada?

We are a young Canadian Polish community who emigrated quite recently and knew like no one else how complicated the process is and how much it all depends on the details.
